AQA

Assessments

This qualification is assessed via two exams and one piece of course work.

Examination

The first assessment is a written exam and lasts for 1 hour 30 minutes. It makes up 35% of the GCSE. The second exam follows the same formatting and weighting, with the topics being different.

Coursework

The coursework element is around creating media products and pupils choose one of five annually changing briefs. This piece is worth 30% of the overall grade.

Next steps after GCSEs

This course will well equip pupils for AS and A-Level studies, provided a rounded skill-set that can be further used.
