GCSE English Literature

Our GCSE English Literature course is accredited by AQA. It covers all aspects of English Literature. This course gives pupils both an overall and in-depth understanding of how media represents the world.

Topics include media language, media representations, media industries and media audiences.

This qualification is assessed via two exams and one piece of course work.

The first assessment is a written exam and lasts for 1 hour 30 minutes. It makes up 35% of the GCSE. The second exam follows the same formatting and weighting, with the topics being different.

The coursework element is around creating media products and pupils choose one of five annually changing briefs. This piece is worth 30% of the overall grade.
